GAP Region Tour

GAP is the name given to Southeast Anatolian Development Project first mentioned in 1970s then declared in a Master Plan report in 1989. Region includes Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Batman, Mardin cities and the landscape surrounding where 2 main rivers Euphrates and Tigris give life to. The tour generally starts at Diyarbakir or at Gaziantep both having an airport and constructed accordingly.

 

Visit Arsemia, Cendere Bridge and Karakuş in Adiyaman. Wacht the dawn among the statutes of ancient gods at Mount Nemrut.

 

Visit Turkey’s largest dam Atatürk Dam on the way to Sanliurfa and visit Balıklıgöl and the cave Prophet Ibrahim was born.

 

Visit ancient city of Harran, its castle, university and Harran houses. Add in Birecik to see the protection station for the rare Kelaynak birds.

 

Visit Archelogical Museum, Hasan SüzerEtnographic Museum, and the Castle as well as the famous bazaars. Such as spice bazaar in Gaziantep.

 

Have a sightseeing tour in Diyarbakir andin Batman, do visit the ruins of Hasankeyf including the Castle and the Palace we can arrange a drive to the old town of Midyatwith a visit to the “Telkari” shops.

 

Mardin is a unique city. The old town of the city is under the protection of UNESCO, which forbids new constructions to preserve its facade. Following a tour of this enchanting city, Dayrulzeferan Monastery must be seen.
